I came across an informative article to describe Oracle Block Browser and Editor Tool (BBED), written by Graham Thornton

This paper explains how to build the tool on Linux and how each command works. Quite clearly this is a useful tool to get you out of a hole in the case of corruption or incorrect deletions but its also an excellent hacker tool.

This tool (BBED) is a part of Oracle database once you get it installed. But, if you want to use BBED, you have to install it by yourself.
Please be note that using this lower level data block tool would be highly risky because it's not oracle-supported. You are absolutely on your own. With BBED, you can:

- change data
- recover corrupted or deleted data
- alter a file header
- corrupt and uncorrupt block
The article provided detailed steps to simulate the above works.
